Interesting thought to use NING for research. I think it will work for student use, it did work well for teacher use in a professional development setting. They moved right into their pages and made them personal. I think it is a great way to help students understand the power of social networking.

You keep up the great work! Our new teachers need to understand these tools beyond the personal use of facebook and my space. To them this social part of learning is second nature, to the teacher they will team with it is a foreign langauge! You are training teachers to communicate in ways never before imagined in our classroom, a big job!
