If you are a beginner, don’t worry if you are advanced I have challenges for you! This is hands on learning, and each project will be unique to you.
Introduce yourself to the group. Also share how "techie" you are, and what types of things would you like to work on this week.

That's fine if you want to introduce me to pec123

Anyways. I've been tryout different systems for my computer class for next year. Here's a discussion site I got up and running off an old laptop, then started striping out all the extra options that I don't want my students to be using.

Here's a simple shoutbox I setup for Greg

Despite these options, static html pages may still be the best option for presenting unit materials.

I love technology and want to learn more.. I know just enough to make me dangerous. I use the computer lab at school 4-6 times a week depending on the projects we're working on. I'm looking forward to learning soooo much from you Meg!

I teach FCS at Harlem High School. I consider my self somewhat techie but by no means an expert. I would like to be able to create a movie and remember how to do it this week. I hope to acquire more tech skills.

I am very excited to learn new things in this class. Do you think ning would be a good vehicle for creating blogs for the classroom environment? I would like a safe place for the students to learn blogging skills.

Hi:
I'm Marianne. Not quite sure what I want to focus on this week. As far as my tech. ability, I guess it is OK. Still have alot to learn. I really just want to get some new ideas to use in my classes that will keep kids engaged.

Hi
I am Susan W. I am a 6th grade special education teacher in Harvard. I do work well with technology once I understand what I am doing. I would like to learn about ideas that I could use with my self-contained Language Arts class that function around the 3rd grade level. I am also interested in learning about the smart boards.

Hi!
My name is Gene. I am married with 2 children 21 and 18. I teach at Prairie Hill School and I am a band director. As a music teacher, I spend most of my classtime teaching music. I am looking for ways to enhance my teaching and not using the same old methods I have used in the past. I can't believe that in 4 hours I have enough material to last through my summer!

I am a HS Algebra and Geometry teacher. I am a little bit techie. I used to teach computer classes. I would like to write a grant to get an LCD projector for my classroom so I can teach math in a new way. I would like to teach math using powerpoint presentations and link to websites related to certain related topics. I'm open to learn anything new with technology.

I am Roxanne (Mabeline). I am fairly new to the tech world. I feel like a whole other world is out there and I need to know how to access it without feeling like I will "kill" the computer. I would like to learn about making folders for the all the pictures I have and how to organize the files. I have already learned new vocabular today and am looking forward to the rest of the week.

I am anxious to learn about more resources out in cyberspace. I have already thought of at least a dozen uses for photostory3. I made one to give my students a visual of a novel they will be reading. I am beginning another one to introduce a multicultural writing project and end of year potluck.
